“TRIPLE NICKELS” 2022

Final Concept Sketch (8.5” x 11”). This 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion collage for our African-American predecessors is extremely unique. "Triple Nickels" served as smoke jumpers on the west coast during the WWII era via the US War Department’s Operation Firefly. Also included is a "Buffalo Nickel" in the background as a nod to & acknowledgement to the 17 Soldiers (of the original 24) as they were alumni from the 92nd Infantry Division (Buffalo Soldiers).
